Latest: Filming Series 3 of SJA

Filming for the third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures recently began in Cardiff and some set reports from filming are now beginning to appear online. Today Daniel Anthony who plays Clyde and Anjli Mohindra who plays Rani were both seen filming in a laboratory inside the University Security Building in Cardiff. Paul Kasey who appears as many aliens in costume was also seen today, and he was seen dressed as what looks like a Judoon, which hints that the Judoon might be this years returning Doctor Who alien, with last year's being the Sontarans, and the year before that being the Slitheen. The Judoon are a species of space police who previously appeared in the Doctor Who episodes "Smith and Jones" and "The Stolen Earth". The Sarah Jane Adventures series 3 will continue filming over the next few months and it will air on BBC One this Autumn.

Gillian Anderson as The Rani?

Various different sources are reporting that Gillian Anderson, the actress who is well known for her role in The X-Files, will be appearing in Doctor Who Series 5 as the Rani. The Rani is a Time Lady who is an old enemy of the Doctor and she was originally played by Kate O' Mara in the classic series of the show. A BBC insider apparently said: "Gillian obviously has a massive sci-fi following and it's felt that it would be a major coup to have her appear in Doctor Who. The team behind the show are keen for the next Doctor to have lots of new enemies and Gillian would be a glamorous and impressive addition to the list. The Rani would be a perfect role for her as the character used to be regarded as one of the Doctor's most deadly opponents. It should be noted that at the moment the BBC have not confirmed any of this information so it may or may not be true.
